Photography By David Collins is making good headway in to providing wedding photography services. My most recent was the wedding of Mark and Jennifer. I met Jennifer while photographing some of the Wolves in her care at the North Georgia Petting Zoo in Cleveland, Georgia. She asked me if I provided wedding photography services and I was completely upfront with her.
"Yes i do" I told her, "but Weddings are my newest service and I only have a few weddings in my portfolio."
After a lot of discussion over the next few weeks, Jennifer took a leap of faith in me and asked me to photograph her wedding. We first got started with her and Mark with their Engagement Session in North Georgia. This was a great way to get to know them as I believe having a great friendship makes working with them all the better.
Their wedding presented all the challenges a busy wedding can have. A fast paced schedule, various shooting conditions, low light, bright sunlight, you name it. I used my 2 Nikon cameras; my d7100 and my d7000 with a compliment of my Tamron 70-200 2.8, Tamron 17-50 2.8. I utilized my Voice Activated Light Stand - ie Assistant with an off-camera flash and my trusty Pocket Wizard. It was a true test to run the Tamron 17-50 2.8 through it's paces. The lens did very well considering it's not exactly meant as a "Pro" lense, but I believe a shooter makes the gear work for the shooter, not limit the shooter. It was a great day and I can't wait for my next wedding.
